PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for refining Fe-Ni alloys which can suitably produce an Fe-Ni alloy cold-rolled plate showing an excellent etching property and surface properties. SOLUTION: In the process for refining Fe-Ni alloys containing 0.01-0.03 wt.% Si, oxidizing refining of a molten material is performed through AOD (argon-oxygen decarburization) and/or VOD (vacuum oxygen decarburization), and Si or Si ferroalloy is added for deoxidation, wherein basicity of a generated slag (C/S) and Si concentration are controlled to fall within an area surrounded by a, b, c and d in Fig. 1.
