PURPOSE: A surface light source using an LED(Light Emitting Diode) is provided to be capable of simplifying manufacturing processes and reducing fabrication cost without using a lamp type LED. CONSTITUTION: A surface light source using an LED is provided with a sub-mount substrate(200) having a plurality of P-type and N-type electrode pads connected with outside power supplies spaced apart from each other, and a plurality of LEDs(250) having a plurality of P-type and N-type electrodes corresponding to each P-type and N-type electrode pad, electrically connected with the sub-mount substrate. Preferably, an insulating substrate or a conductive substrate is used as the sub-mount substrate and the LED is formed at the insulating substrate having optical transparence. |
