APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ESTIMATING LEAKAGE INDUCTANCE OF INDUCTION MOTOR

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method are provided to estimate a leakage inductance even without using a device for restricting an induction motor. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a two to three-phase converting unit(41) for converting the two-phase voltage of a D-axis and a Q-axis of an induction motor(43) into a three-phase voltage and outputting the converted voltage; an inverter(42) for driving the induction motor by switching the three-phase output voltage of the two to three-phase converting unit; a three to two-phase converting unit(45) for detecting a three-phase current during the operation of the induction motor, converting the detected current into a two-phase current, and outputting the converted current; and a leakage inductance estimation unit(46) for receiving the current output from the three to two-phase converting unit and the two-phase voltage of the D-axis and Q-axis, and estimating a leakage inductance by dividing the current into an active current and power and reactive current and power.
