摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an aluminum alloy substrate for magnetic disks which does not degrade the yield of the substrate even if the sheet-metal board thickness of a coil after rolling increases in manufacturing of the aluminum alloy substrate and can reduce the cost of manufacturing the substrate by eliminating a process step for sorting the sheet-metal board thickness. SOLUTION: The method includes at least a first process step of fabricating the coil by rolling an aluminum alloy and a second process step of fabricating the aluminum alloy substrate of a disk shape by blanking the coil. The sheet- metal board thickness of the coil is measured and the coil finished to the sheet- metal board thickness thicker than the target sheet-metal board thickness range is elongated in such a manner that the elongation percentage in the rolling direction of the coil attains 0.05 to 1.0% by a tension leveler before blanking the coil.
