PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information distribution system of high convenience enabling a user to listen to new music or to know the latest information early even in an outdoor place through a portable terminal unit. SOLUTION: The system for distributing information requested from a service center 1 through a network 2, has repeaters 3 connected with the network 2 and arranged in different places, and a portable terminal unit 5 that can radiocommunicate with the repeaters 3 within a prescribed area. The terminal unit 5 owned by the user is provided with a display part 7 for displaying information transmitted from the repeater 3 via the network 2; a storage medium for storing the transmitted information; and an earphone 8 for reproducing the information.
