<p>A skin care cosmetic composition comprising: (a) an amount from 0.01 to 20% by weight of one or more esters of citric acid having the structure (1): where R1 is chosen from one of tri-secondarybutyl citrate, tri-isopropyl citrate, tri lauroyl citrate or their mixtures thereof; and (b) from 10 to 99.9% by weight of an acceptable vehicle for the citric acid.</p>
