METHOD FOR PRODUCING RECOMBINANT Vpr PROTEIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a recombinant virus protein r (Vpr) protein.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the recombinant Vpr protein comprises transforming a host cell which is Escherichia coli with an expression vector (containing a λ promoter) containing a gene encoding the Vpr protein and integrated therein and culturing the resultant transformed host cell. Thereby, the recombinant full length Vpr protein can efficiently be produced in an expression system of the Escherichia coli without modification at a low cost. Furthermore, a method for promoting HIV-1 replication comprises administering the Vpr protein.
