PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll paper holder that enables cutting off of a piece of paper by a single hand and has a simple constitution. SOLUTION: An opening 2 is provided on a cover 1 of the roll paper holder for taking out a roll paper. A paper 3 taken out from the opening 2 is pulled in the downward direction to compress the cover 1. The pressed cover 1 presses down a roll paper main body 4 and stops rotation of the roll paper main body 4, thus enabling cutting off of a piece of the paper 3 by one hand without needing to hold down the cover 1 of the roll paper holder by a hand.
