<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change operation conditions according to the type of a battery. <P>SOLUTION: A battery type decision mechanism 12 decides the type of a battery stored in a battery box 11 and supplies its decision result to a CPU 41. A battery voltage detection part 81 detects the voltage of the battery and supplies the detected voltage to the CPU 41. A temperature detection part 91 detects the ambient temperature of the battery and supplies the detected temperature to the CPU 41. The CPU 41 reads a corresponding zoom speed set value out of a memory according to the type of the battery, detected temperature, and detected humidity and supplies it to a zoom control part 43 to control the zoom speed of a zoom mechanism 45, reads out and supplies a luminance set value to a screen luminance control part 61 to control the luminance of a display screen 62, and reads out and supplies an electronic flash charging time set value to an electronic flash charging control part 72 to control the electronic flash charging time of a electronic flash mechanism 72.
