PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication equipment in which when the number of channels of an ISDN network having a plurality of basic interface ports is less than that of connecting connectors 5a to 5d of ISDN devices 1a so that excess connectors 5d exist, these connectors (input/output terminals) are not useful, and hence these excess terminals are effectively utilized and other ISDN device 1b can be connected. SOLUTION: The communication equipment comprises a plurality of input/ output terminals (5a to 5d) having both terminal side functions (2a to 2d) and network side functions (3a to 3d), and means (changeover switches 4a to 4d, 11a to 11d) for arbitrarily selecting one of the terminal side functions and the network side functions at each terminal.
