PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely correct convergence shifting, to stably hold a corrected result, and to reduce a cost. SOLUTION: A quadrupole magnet 13a arranged adjacently to an electron gun 11, and a quadrupole magnet 13b arranged in a position most separated from the electron gun 11 are provided in a neck part 10 of a cathode ray tube, and the quadrupole magnet 13a arranged adjacently to the electron gun 11 is arranged along a tube axis direction of a neck in a position where a regulation sensitivity ratio of a side/the center in the convergence correction gets lowest. The quadrupole magnet 13b arranged in the position most separated from the electron gun 11 is regulated to correct the convergence shiftings in both ends of a horizontal axis in an image, the quadrupole magnet 13a arranged adjacently to the electron gun 11 is regulated to correct the convergence shifting in the central part of the image, the convergence shifting in the whole image is thereby corrected, and correction precision is enhanced by using a gear type one as the quadrupole magnet 13a.
