An electrical household device has an integral or attached detachable communications module with an interface to a data network and or a power supply network. The household device connection interface to the communications module has electrical connections with a contact protection element (10). The module is housed in a well with the protective wall protecting a user against accidental contact with electrical components during insertion or removal of the module. Independent claims are also made for a well for housing and connection of a communications module for a household appliance.
