The heating insert (1) has a storage container (10), combustion air channel (8) and walls. The storage container is arranged outside the heating insert and connected with the interior of the heating insert by a feed tube (11). The storage container and the feed tube are gastight. The storage container is tightly closable and the feed tube runs inclinedly through one of the walls (12). The combustion air feed with natural draught, independently of the fuel feed, occurs through a combustion air channel (8).
