FIELD: glassmaking. SUBSTANCE: composition contains, wt %: SiO2 69-74, Na2O 11-15, CaO 9-13, MgO 0.005-3.0, K2O 0.005-1.0, SO3 0.1-0.5, Fe2O3+FeO 0.3-1.0, MnO+MnO2 2.0-3.1. This composition reduces transmission of UV light below wavelength about 400 nm and possesses properties regarding melting and molding resembling those of sodium-calcium-silicate glass.
