<p>The device, designed to be implanted in an anatomical duct such as a blood vessel, has a basic wire structure with a main axis (13) and is able to occupy two positions. The first position has a reduced dia. for implantation, and the second position has the arms of the structure deployed to engage with the walls of the duct. The device has elongated arms (11) in two sections (11a,b), with the first sections of at least some of the arms having flattened solid surfaces which press against the inner wall of the duct without engaging with it, and have a larger diameter than the second sections when compressed for implantation. The first sections can be in the form of plates, and the second round section metal wires between 0.2 and 0.5 mm, e.g. of Phynox (RTM) or other stainless steel.</p> |
