The high pressure injection nozzle has a nozzle insert (3) seated on the nozzle orifice (2) inside the nozzle housing (1) and provided with an outlet orifice (4) in communication with the nozzle orifice. A valve seat (5) is provided for closing off or opening the outlet orifice, and the nozzle insert consists of a ceramic or precious stone material. The valve seat supports a swirl component (6) which protrudes into a swirl chamber (7) in the insert upstream of the outlet orifice. An Independent claim is included for a use for the HP injection nozzle which may be for injection cooling especially for a gas turbine.
