<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base sequence exhibiting single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) and a method for utilizing the same. <P>SOLUTION: A region (polymorphic region) that SNP is observed between varieties is found by sequencing in large quantities cDNA clone derived from barley varieties, H. spontaneum or HARUNANIJOU. SNP formed on a gene is available for various usages due to having high possibility relating to the intrinsic phenotypes of the varieties. For example, a polynucleotide including the polymorphic region is available as a tool for judging a base of the polymorphic region existing on the gene of barley, whereby genetic variety identification or judgement on having any types of genes is available. A new transformant can be produced and selected by using the polynucleotide as a probe for isolating a gene or detecting SNP. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
