PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide mounting apparatus and method for an exterior body of an escalator, in which welding is not used to reduce the number of working steps, fine adjustment of an installation position is simple and easy, disaster such as fire is prevented to safely perform work, mounting accuracy can be easily increased and working time can be shortened, the number of workers is reduced and burden on the worker is lightened, and danger such as injury to the worker caused by falling down of the side plate is prevented, positional adjustment of opposing side plates can be performed at a time, and a member to be reused is easily removed. SOLUTION: In a mounting apparatus for an exterior body of an escalator, a support means on which side plate is placed for supporting the side plate is provided. The support means is disposed to a truss so that the position of the support means can be adjusted in an vertical direction and/or a horizontal direction with respect to the truss.
