<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent soot generation at a reformer in a fuel reforming system. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel reforming system is equipped with an evaporator 1 to gasify gasoline and water for a source fuel gas and a reformer 2 to generate a hydrogen rich gas by reforming the source fuel gas with a catalytic reaction which uses a reforming catalyst. When a required quantity of the hydrogen rich gas generated in the reformer 2 is in a steady state, a feeding rate of gasoline to water to the evaporator 1 is made to be constant. When the required quantity of the hydrogen rich gas generated in the reformer 2 is required to be increased, a water feeding quantity to the evaporator 1 is increased to a quantity determined by multiplying an increase amount factor k larger than 1 by a quantity calculated from the feeding rate of gasoline to water at the steady state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
