<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing Natto (fermented soybean) with brown rice packed in a container by which the Natto with the brown rice can be easily packed while industrially accurately measuring the weight without damaging the quality of the Natto with the brown rice when packing the Natto with the brown rice in the container, and to provide the Natto with the brown rice packed in the container and obtained by the method. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the Natto with the brown rice packed in the container comprises a step for adding and mixing the brown rice to and with soybean, a step for steaming the mixture of the soybean and the brown rice, a step for inoculating Bacillus natto on the steamed mixture, a step for dividing the inoculated mixture and packing the divided mixture in the containers, a step for fermenting the mixture packed in the container, and a step for ripening the fermented mixture. A germinated brown rice obtained by packing the germinated brown rice having 12-40% water content in a packaging bag while degassing the interior, heating the packed germinated brown rice with the packaging bag, taking out the content within 12 hours from the heating, and soaking the taken out content in water is used as the brown rice.
