PURPOSE: An automatic answering telephone using voice recognition is provided to record a message of a caller in absence by the voice recognition and speak over the automatic answering telephone by only a registered voice. CONSTITUTION: A call connection sensing unit(3) senses a start point of a call signal for requesting connection to a telephone unit(1), and converts a state of an automatic answering telephone into a call state. A voice recognition unit(5) recognizes a voice of a caller, which is transmitted from the telephone unit(1) in the call state, and converts voice data into digital data. A voice classification unit(7) is operated by a command of an input unit(11), for classifying the voice data from the voice recognition unit(5) to be capable of registration. A voice storing unit(9) stores registration information of the voice classification unit(7) together with voices in the same storing space. The input unit(11) instructs the voice classification unit(7) to register and delete voices. A voice judging unit(13) successively compares the voice data of the voice recognition unit(5) with voice data registered in the voice storing unit(9), and judges whether the voice data of the voice recognition unit(5) are identical to the voice data registered in the voice storing unit(9) on the basis of the compared result by a frequency and amplitude analysis algorithm. An automatic answering unit(15) informs the call state of the telephone unit(1) to a callee or performs an automatic answering function, on the basis of the judged result of the voice judging unit(13). An answering control unit(17) successively reproduces a message of the callee and records a message of the caller, according to the automatic answering function of the automatic answering unit(15).
