The felt has at least one visible colorful side. Only one wear layer (7) is dyed through its complete thickness to match the co lour of the visible layer. The wear layer is thinner than the visible layer and an adjoining felt layer (6) is not dyed. It can be dyed to create a pattern and using several colors. An Independent claim is included for production of the felt.
