<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition for ink-jet recording that can retain excellent ink jetting stability, even after the ink is left without jetting for a while, has high fastness to light and heat and resistance to oxidation, and give printed characters of high quality. <P>SOLUTION: The ink composition for ink-jet recording contains at least one of dyes which are represented by general formula (I) (wherein X<SB>1</SB>-X<SB>4</SB>are each -SO-Z, -SO<SB>2</SB>-Z, -SO<SB>2</SB>NR<SB>1</SB>R<SB>2</SB>, sulfo group, -CONR<SB>1</SB>R<SB>2</SB>or -CO<SB>2</SB>R<SB>1</SB>; Z is an alkyl, a cycloalkyl, an alkenyl, an aralkyl, an aryl or a heterocyclic group; R<SB>1</SB>, R<SB>2</SB>are each H, or Z; Y<SB>1</SB>-Y<SB>4</SB>are each a monovalent substituent; M is H, a metal atom or its oxide, hydroxide or a halide; a<SB>1</SB>-a<SB>4</SB>, b<SB>1</SB>-b<SB>4</SB>are each an integer of 0-4) dissolved and/or dispersed in an aqueous medium and at least one of anionic surfactant. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
