<p>A biometric recognition system enrolls (104) individuals with minimal data keying and expedited processing at the point of biometric data collection. Personal data is obtained initially from an existing database, an identity document reader, or a data entry form available at multiple locations, such as an Internet web-based form (112). Based on the personal information received (118,120), any necessary background checks are completed and the individual is authorized to enroll in the system. The individual appears at a biometric data collection station (104) with at least one identity document. The document, the individual, and the stored personal data are matched and verified, and biometric data is collected and stored in linkage with the personal data of the individual.</p> |
