PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for folding a web without applying a tension practically and for preventing the generation of a loosening and a wrinkle caused by the loosening as to the folding of a web. SOLUTION: An inside guide 20 guides a web 1 so that a path line taking up any position in the widthwise direction of the web 1 passing from the beginning to the completion of folding in the folding process part 10 of the web 1 becomes roughly constant. The guide 20 has a guide shape to make the length of the path line of the guiding web 1 roughly constant. The folding parts 4, 4 of the web 1 receive no other positive folding effort, but by the guide of the inside guide 20 guiding the main body 3 of the web 1, the same is folded naturally.
