<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp and a compact shape fluorescent lamp which realizes a reduction in abnormal noise occurrence, a reduction in breaking of thin tubes, a reduction in leakage of the thin tubes and so on, by regulating big shifting of amalgam in the thin tubes, wherein the thin tubes can be formed without labour. <P>SOLUTION: The discharge lamp 1 is provided with a transparent valve 2 having sealed electrode members 10 at tits end portions respectively, in which a discharge medium is sealed, the thin tubes 3 which are sealed at the end portions of the valve 2, elastic members 4 which are taken in and held in insides of the thin tubes 3 by elastic restoring forces which expand in radial directions of the thin tubes 3, pressing the inner surfaces of the thin tubes 3, and the amalgam 5 taken in the insides of the thin tubes 3, whose shifting in the insides of the thin tubes 3 is regulated by the elastic members 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
