The tricycle has a frame (2) with a front axletree (6) with a front wheel (4) provided at a steerable fork (4). The rear axletree (11) is provided with two wheels (14). The frame consists of two consecutive frame parts (2.1,2.2) in longitudinal direction. The rear frame part (2.2) includes two shackle-like frame elements (9), which are fixed to the rear axle or to an axle tube (12) formed by the axletree with one end and are connected to the front frame part (2.1) with the other end. A part of the frame elements are provided clearly above the plane of the axletrees. A vehicle seat (16) is placed between the frame elements and the seating area lies below the frame elements. At least one wheel is provided with a reverse gear lock.
