The apparatus, for mounting within a tyre, comprises two support loops formed from a plurality of arched elements (20) and urged axially apart by compression springs (208) housed within pairs of coupling tubes (205,206) attached to each support loop. The tyre (10) comprises two flanges (101), each flange (101) protruding radially inward from a side wall of the tyre. Each support loop comprises locating rods which are mounted within locating holes on the flange to secure the support member to the tyre. Optional flexible packing rings (30) are provided. |
