PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for disposing waste capable of utilizing metal components such as copper and iron contained in the incineration ash or the like. SOLUTION: This method for disposing waste comprises melting the incineration ash generated on incinerating waste, adding sulfur or a sulfur compound to the molten ash to convert copper contained in the ash into copper sulfide to be recovered. The recovered copper sulfide is utilized as a raw material for copper refining. Also from the residue after recovering copper sulfide, residual metals are recovered and utilized as an iron-based raw material. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
