The surface water drainage system has a gutter body (10), with a frame (20) fitted to the upper edges (15). The frame has an outer (22) and an inner (30) leg, with the gutter edge between them. As the gutter is cast, the frame is cast continuously with it to be integrated into the gutter body, or it is fitted to the gutter and bonded in place by an adhesive (37). A frame leg has a projecting surface (32) from a mounting section (34) to lie against the gutter body with a spring grip. The frame is shaped from rolled metal strip.
