PURPOSE: A vacuum fluorescent display is provided to effectively prevent the filament from being red heated, while allowing for cost and size reduction by eliminating the necessity of mounting an additional filter on the front substrate. CONSTITUTION: A vacuum fluorescent display comprises a front substrate(26) and a rear substrate opposed to each other; a phosphor formed at the rear substrate; a filament(24) mounted in the space formed between the front substrate and the rear substrate, and which emits thermal electrons; and a conductive film(28) arranged at the inner surface of the front substrate, and which cuts off a static electricity applied from an external source. The conductive film has a colored pigment for preventing the red heat of the filament from being monitored from outside.
