METHOD FOR GENERATING AND VERIFYING ELECTRONIC SIGNATURES

The invention relates to an electronic signature method, according to which a digital signature is generated by a signature unit which calculates said signature according to secret data and the signature is verified by a verifying unit which verifies if the signature meets a mathematical condition. According to the inventive method, the signature unit also calculates a code which represents the program used for generating said signature at the time the signature is generated and then transmits said code to the verifying unit. The verification process also consists of verifying if the signature was generated by means of an authorized program. Said second condition is verified by using the transmitted code. The signature is accepted if said second condition and the mathematical condition are met.
