The sheath is applied to grip the strand, bringing its longitudinal edges (2a, 2b) together. Grip must prevent slipping relative to the strand when manipulated by an installer, in particular the sheath must remain in place when the strand is upright. The edges are joined by welding or adhesion. An Independent claim is included for the corresponding sheath, and the tubular assembly produced. A tubular assembly (collar) with foam envelope at least 10 meters long is also claimed. |
