PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight plate with excellent strength used as flooring, a wall material or roofing of a building, a planking laid on a driveway, a sidewalk or other passages, a deck for a truck, a floor slab for a bridge, or the like. SOLUTION: Aluminum plates 1 of fixed height with trapezoidal projecting parts 1a and recessed parts 1b alternately formed in bent shape and with slits 2 formed in the projecting parts 1a and recessed parts 1b respectively from above, are provided parallel so that the projecting parts 1a and recessed parts 1b are jointed to each other, thus forming honeycomb shape. Aluminum plates 4 serving as connecting fittings of the same height as the aluminum plates 1 and formed with slits 3 from below at every fixed space, are pushed in so that the slits 3 bite into the slits 2 of the jointed projecting and recessed parts 1a, 1b of the aluminum plates 1, thus forming a honeycomb-shaped core 5 connected and reinforced with the aluminum plates 4 serving as the connecting fittings. The core 5 is then placed in a die, filled and covered with a granular material 7 obtained by grinding styrene foam of industrial waste, and pressurized and compressed by a press.
