<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen density detecting device which always acquires a highly reliable value as an oxygen density in exhaust emission based on output values from an oxygen density sensor installed in the exhaust system of a diesel engine. <P>SOLUTION: In an electronic control device 90 for generally controlling the operating state of the diesel engine 1, the oxygen density detecting device first fully opens a throttle valve 32 to exchange fresh air in an intake system 30 with residual exhaust gas in the exhaust system and then closes the throttle valve 32 and, after a pressure and a temperature in the exhaust system 40 are stabilized, performs the correction of the atmosphere. Also, the electronic control device 90 controls so as to prohibit the addition of fuel within a specified period after the start of fuel cut. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
