FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automatic control of heat engines and it can be used in manufacture of fuel system devices of engines. According to proposed method, control signal supplied to actuating device changing fuel delivery to engine is formed using control error signal and additional signal indirectly accounting change of resistance force moment on engine operation resistance force moment on engine shaft and speed of its change are constantly evaluated and results, thus obtained, are used ion forming control signal. Device for implementing automatic control of heat engine shaft speed contains speed setter, engine shaft speed transducer, fuel feed member position transducer, control signal shaper and actuating device. Available vector observer of system condition is connected by first inlet with fuel feed member position transducer and by second inlet, with engine shaft angular velocity transducer and regulator. Regulator is coupled by first inlet with first outlet of observer, by second inlet, with second outlet of observer, by third inlet, with third outlet of observer, by fourth inlet, with third outlet of observer, by fourth inlet, with fuel feed member position transducer, by fifth inlet, with engine shaft speed setter and by outlet, with inlet of actuating device. Invention improves efficiency and accuracy of engine shaft speed automatic control system by forming structure of automatic control system basing on adaptive methods of evaluation of load on engine shaft and using in control system information on acting load moment of engine shaft and speed of its change.
