<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device in which the diameter of a lens is made small, the curvature of the lens is increased and comma aberration caused when the optical axis of incident light is inclined to the lens is corrected and an optical pickup using the optical device. <P>SOLUTION: The optical device 21 possesses a lens base plate 11 in which the lens 12 consisting of a material whose refractive index is high is embedded in a base plate transparent to the incident light and a plane parallel base plate 13 transparent to the incident light, and is integrated so that the lens base plate 11 and the plane parallel base plate 13 are arranged in parallel with each other and also the plane parallel base plate 13 is arranged on the side of the convergent point of the lens 12. Also, the optical pickup is provided with the optical device 21, and also possesses at least a light source and the lens 12 to irradiate a recording medium with light emitted from the light source by converging it. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
