PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal capable of dealing with not only the conventional black-and-white images/color images, but data of voice/e- mails digital camera/personal computer files/moving pictures and other kinds of data. SOLUTION: SEP BOX's are provided for storing black-and-white images/ color images/voice/e-mails/digital camera/personal computer files/moving pictures/and other kinds of data to be transmitted over the public telephone network or other networks. A list of SEP BOX's Numbers related with the tile name of stored data/kind of data/compression system/type of polling receivable terminals/data quantity is prepared and stored in the SEP BOX. Based on the G3 facsimile protocol, the negotiation is conducted for transmitting and receiving black-and-white images/color images/voice/e-mails/digital camera/personal computer files/moving pictures/and other kinds of data.
