The present invention is directed to a method for preparing a compound of formula I, or sterioisomeric forms, mixtures of sterioisomeric forms, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, that includes contacting a compound of formula II and a compound of formula III in the presence of proline, for a period of time effective to provide the compound of formula I. The present invention is also directed to a compound prepared by the methods of the present invention. The compound of formulas I-III are described herein.
