This invention relates to a process for detection of nucleic acids by means of a cell array capacitive sensor, comprising a number N of measurement cells, characterised in that it comprises the following steps: A. performing a first reference detection of the capacitance of said cell array, B. depositing at least one sample of at least one substance to be analysed on at least one area of the sensor including a number M of measurement cells, where M <= N; C. performing a measurement detection of the capacitance of the cell array; D. calculating at least one difference between at least a portion of the capacitance data of the measurement detection and the capacitance data of the first reference detection and determining the distribution of said at least one capacitance difference; E. processing said at least one distribution of capacitance difference and providing the result of the detection. The invention also relates to the apparatus performing the process.
