PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for packaging grouped slender articles in order to sequentially provide a first and second pockets along two passages having a common part. SOLUTION: The first pocket is inserted in the second pocket along the common part, and the grouped articles are transported from the first pocket to the second pocket, together with a packaging member sheet which is folded into a U-shape inside the second pocket. Then, two flaps facing each other in parallel are held between a first and a second side walls, and the grouped articles are compressed between the first and the second side walls, and the first side wall is slipped out of the second pocket simultaneously.
