PURPOSE: A freeze protection unit is provided to function as a valve in a tap, a water gauge, or a pipeline at ordinary times and to protect a pipeline from freezing and being frozen to burst by operating a valve automatically. CONSTITUTION: The freeze protection unit comprises: a main body(A) formed in the cylindrical shape whose upper side is closed and lower side is opened and coupled with a conveyance unit(C) and a handle(1); a contraction unit(B) composed of a housing(10), contractile materials, a rubber cap(30), inelastic rubber(40), a slider pin(50), a slider(60), a conic coil spring(70) and a coil spring(80) and expanded or contracted according to a variation of temperature to open and shut an inlet(2) of a conveyance unit(C); and a conveyance unit(C) formed in a hollow cylindrical shape, provided with an inlet(2) and an outlet(3), and coupled with the main body(A).
