PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new organic silicon compound which has one or more halogeno silyl groups or alkoxysilyl groups at one molecular terminal and a lactone ring at the other terminal, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: (1) This lactone ring-having organic silicon compound represented by the general formula (R<SB>1</SB>, R<SB>2</SB>, and R<SB>3</SB>are each identically or differently a 1 to 6C alkyl, a 1 to 6C alkoxy, phenyl or a halogen, provided that at least one of R<SB>1</SB>, R<SB>2</SB>, and R<SB>3</SB>is a 1 to 6C alkoxy or a halogen; R<SB>4</SB>is a 1 to 6C alkylene; R<SB>5</SB>is methyl or H). (2) The organic silicon compound is produced by the following reactions (R<SB>1</SB>to R<SB>5</SB>are the same as described above; R<SB>7</SB>has the same carbon skeleton as that of R<SB>4</SB>, and has a C=C bond at the terminal).
