Combination of adaptive modulation and space frequency block coding or antenna weighting for efficient encoded data transmission

The method provides a modulation process for transmitting data on several sub-carriers over several radio channels. The method involves receiving a bit loading table provided on several sub-carriers. The data to be transmitted is adaptively modulated according to the table. The modulated data is encoded using code components. The encoded data components are allocated to several sub-carriers and/or several antennae and/or are used to weight the transmission components of the antenna with current transmission functions of the radio channels. Independent claims also cover an apparatus for carrying out the method.
