METAL CARBIDE COMPOSITE

摘要

A cemented carbide composite article formed from a mixture of tungsten carbide (WC) and cobalt (Co) and diamond particles of not more than 2% by mass of the article. Each diamond particle is of no larger size than 15 microns in diameter. The mixture is sintered to high temperatures and in reducing atmospheres to create a homogenous compound of extremely high hardness and wear resistance. The article is for use in the tool-making industry to produce highly durable cutting inserts with high wear-resistance.
