<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character string input method capable of efficiently inputting a character string based on a part of input character information, and to provide a device therefor. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with an input means 1 for acquiring input information such as key input, an input predicting dictionary 3 for storing character string reading information, KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI(Chinese character) notation information, and character string appearance frequency information, an input predicting means 2 for executing input prediction based on the information acquired by the input means 1 and the information from the input prediction dictionary 3, a control means 5 for discriminating a character string selection instruction and a redevelopment instruction based on the outputs of the input means 1 and the input predicting means 2, a predicted candidate selecting means 6 for selecting a predicted candidate character string from a plurality of predicted candidate character strings acquired by the input predicting means 2 based on the judgement result of the control means 5, and a predicted candidate redeveloping means 7 for predicting the following character strings by using a part of information of the predicted candidate character string selected by the predicted candidate selecting means 6 based on the judgement result of the control means 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
