PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily perform search operation in fast-forward reproduction and fast-reversing reproduction. SOLUTION: A disk reproducing device is equipped with a threshold setting means of setting a threshold so that the threshold of a thread error signal driving a thread motor has a lower specified value in searching than in tracing and an indicating means of instructing fast-forward reproduction or fast- reversing reproduction to be carried out by 1st operation and 2nd operation after it; and the threshold setting means is so constituted as to set the threshold (steps 33 and 35) so that the threshold has the specified value from the point of time when the 1st operation is done.
