<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a countermeasure against a trouble quickly adoptable by a store clerk, when the trouble is recognized in a data read by a card reader. <P>SOLUTION: Card settlement is conducted by inserting/discharging a card to/from the card reader 14 from both a processor front face side and its backface side, and by specifying a conveying direction in response to a classification of the card settlement. When a trouble is recognized in the data read by the card reader 14, the card in which the trouble is recognized in the data is conveyed to an inserting/discharging port 6 positioned in the processor backface side, irrespective of the specified card-conveying direction. The card in which the trouble is recognized in the data read by the card reader 14 is discharged thereby from the inserting/discharging port 6 positioned in the processor backface side, with the proviso that a processor front face is installed to be directed to a customer side, and that a processor backface is installed to be directed to a clerk side, and the countermeasure against the trouble can be thereby adopted quickly by the store clerk. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
