PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication system having substantially no call function that can attain a voice communication service or the like needing the call function and reduce the power consumption in a standby state for a wireless terminal. SOLUTION: The wireless communication system comprises: a communication opposite party 9 at a caller side; a network 7 to which the communication opposite party 9 is connected; a wireless LAN base station 5/a paper base station 6, and a paper controller 8 connected to the network, and a PC 3 for a wireless communication terminal, and the PC 3 is provided with a wireless LAN card 1 and a paper card 2.
