The device has a spring-loaded slider (9) which covers the socket openings for insertion of the plug pins, released by simultaneous insertion of 2 plug pins. A guide allows the slider to move perpendicular to the longitudinal movement direction, with a pair of guide grooves cooperating with side guide projections of the slider and a central guide groove (3) cooperating with a central guide projection (15). The side guide projections have pivot edges which project beyond the edges at the slider ends.
